Woody, Grief Counselor

pet death, pet loss

My father-in-law recently died and shortly after his death, my mother-in-law came to visit. She was still in the process of grieving and needing comfort. Woody, my black and white short-haired cat, took it upon himself to be her comfort. During the day, he was snuggled close to her anywhere that she was seated. At night, Woody would go in to sleep beside her.  My mother-in-law had had no pets for over 20 years. The comfort and companionship that Woody showed her was just the right thing to help her through her grieving. I continue to marvel at how perceptive Woody is about just want his humans need!
