Robert Ernst’s experience in land use and environmental planning was very attractive to us. We knew that as we developed our Let Your Love Grow product, we needed someone with this expertise to ensure that developing memorial gardens and living memorials was done with little adverse impact to the environment as possible.
Robert earned his Ph.D. in land use and environmental planning and has over 40 years of experience in the field. He has worked as project manager on numerous large scale sustainability assignments for federal agencies, the U.S. military, local political jurisdictions, private developers, and agencies of foreign governments. In 2002, his sustainable comprehensive plan for Hamilton, Ohio, was voted the Best Plan for Cities Under 100,000 by the Ohio Chapter of the American Planning Association.
He has authored articles on sustainability issues for both scholarly and professional urban planning journals. His article on how urban planners and their cities have a responsibility to the environment can be found here: Moving Beyond Conventional Environmental Planning
Robert is a friend of Bob and Annette Jenkins and in a casual conversation they discovered that they had a mutual interest in environmental issues.
