How does Let Your Love Grow work?

Let Your Love Grow is an organic mixture for blending with cremated ashes. It safely releases the valuable plant nutrients that are locked within the cremated ashes and allows them to be taken up by plant roots.  For more, you can read all about Our Organic Mixture.

Why do I need Let Your Love Grow?

Cremated ashes contain valuable plant nutrients. However because of a very high pH level, these nutrients are locked within the ashes and not available for plant uptake. They also contain a high level of sodium (salt) that is harmful to plant life.

Let Your Love Grow was formulated to lower the pH of the cremated ashes and dilute the harmful effects of the sodium. Potting soil and regular soil will not significantly lower the pH to allow for the release of the nutrients.

For more info, check out Why Burying Ashes is Harmful to the Environment.

How is Let Your Love Grow different from potting soil or regular soil?

Potting soil and many soils have a neutral pH and are not capable of lowering the high pH found in cremated ashes to allow for the release of the nutrients.  They will not effectively dilute the sodium by themselves.

Do I have to be an experienced gardener to use Let Your Love Grow?

Can I still scatter my cremated ashes if I use Let Your Love Grow?

We recommend doing a container or an in-ground planting when using Let Your Love Grow.  However, if scattering the organic mix combined with the cremated ashes around a plant works best for you, then protect it by adding a layer of organic material such as straw or topsoil over it. This protects the blended mixture from erosion by wind, precipitation and watering.

New research has shown that you can scatter after mixing with Let Your Love Grow but there is a catch.  Once the cremation ash is blended with Let Your Love Grow, it needs to sit for at least a month so the cremation ash can be reduced to organic matter.

What types of plants or trees are right for use with the Let Your Love Grow organic mix?

Let Your Love Grow can be used with any variety of plantings.  If you need assistance with your selection, your local nursery can help you choose a plant best for your area.

Can additional cremated ashes be added to Let Your Love Grow?

Yes.  One memorial can reflect multiple lives. You can even blend a person’s cremated ashes with their beloved pet’s cremated ashes to create a lasting tribute to the bond they shared in life.

What if the cremation was not done recently?

It does not matter how long it has been since the cremation. Cremated ashes remain stable and can be combined with Let Your Love Grow at anytime to create a memorial.

Do I have to bury the Let Your Love Grow cylinder?

No. The most effective way to create a living memorial is to place the Let Your Love Grow organic mix directly into the earth, a planter, or landscaping.  The Let Your Love Grow cylinder is 100% biodegradable and recyclable.

What’s the difference between a biodegradable urn and LYLG?

Biodegradable urns break down, leaving behind unchanged, concentrated cremated ashes. These concentrated cremated ashes can be harmful to the plant because of their naturally occurring high pH and high salt content. The cremated ashes will not release their beneficial plant nutrients because of this high pH.

With Let Your Love Grow, the balance is restored.  The organic mix naturally lowers the pH, allowing for a break down and release of the beneficial nutrients safely and efficiently into the environment.
